Are you the friend who’s always getting things and people organized? Do you sweat the details (and secretly kind of love it)? Ever find yourself making a list just so you can check off something you’ve already accomplished?
If you said “YES!” to any of these questions, your superpower might just be Project Coordination. And you should keep reading…because we have a pretty cool Co-op job that might be right for you…
See what our students are saying about working at Manulife/John Hancock:
You’ll do things like:
Keep things moving. You’ll coordinate projects so they’re delivered on time, they’re on budget, and they rock. Drive strategy forward working with our uber-talented Project Management (PM) team and learning from the best.
Build mad PM skills by developing project scope documents, objectives, and project schedules. These are pretty cool real-life skills that will look super impressive on your resume BTW.
Help ensure smooth change and release management so that…
Tackle Resource Management, Task Management, Budget Management, Vendor Management. Again, some great words (and real experience) for your resume!
Partner with the project team, the project sponsor, and the client group. *Basically, you’re the glue that holds this beautiful collage of project talent together.
Keep track of project risks and issues – and communicate them clearly so everyone is in the know.
**Positions available for both our Toronto and Kitchener/Waterloo offices***
This is the job for you because:
You’ve got a beautiful, analytical mind and you’re interested in applying it to the challenge of project management.
Your experience includes using MS Office, Excel, MS Project, SharePoint. And hey, if you have Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) tool experience, you’ll score extra bonus points with us!
You’re incredibly inquisitive.
You love to dig deeper. You’re great at asking the follow up questions to unearth the info you need (because hey, you’re incredibly inquisitive).
Communication is one of your other superpowers. You’re great at sharing the details and helping people understand where things are at.
You know that part of innovation is failure. And when you fail, you fail forward learning something new and becoming even better than you were before.
You’re well rounded: adaptable, flexible when change happens, a great presenter and facilitator, you work well on your own and as part of a team.
You are pursuing a degree in Computing Financial Management, Computer Science, System Design Engineering, or Business.
Why come to Manulife?
Because we’re not who you think we are. We’re not some stuffy, old insurance company. We’re actually 1100 technology specialists dedicated to improving the health and wealth of Canadians – and doing it in some pretty cool ways. You might be surprised to know that Co-ops love Manulife – and come back term after term. Why? We’ve got what you’re looking for… jobs that embed you in passionate, productive teams, jobs that leave you with great stories to tell at your next set of interviews, jobs that make a Co-op term a fun, profitable break from school. Every term we hire 100+ students – so you’ll have plenty of new friends to chill with. And you can meet your new friends at tons of Co-op events like our recent Execs-serve-ice-cream day, gingerbread house day, and pizza… there’s usually pizza involved.
You’ll also have lots of opportunities for professional growth. Networking with senior leadership? Yes! Access to all our learning and development resources? You bet!
We want you here as a Co-op. And we want to make your experience with us SO AMAZING that you join us in a fulltime role after you graduate. It’s really that simple.
So what’s next?
Wow us with a PDF that includes your resume, a cover letter telling us how awesome you are, your transcript, and your Co-op work history (if you have one).
