Job Summary

The Digital Information Services is looking for a Data Masking Analyst who will participate in the development of a new Data Masking service and fulfill the steady-state tasks for which JH IT Operations is responsible for as part of this service.

Key Accountabilities
  • Work with service lead to understand and support business unit data masking needs
  • Support Data Masking new service set-up activities, learning new tools/processes, general technical oversight and support
  • Provide data masking tool, Informatica and PowerCentre, day to day support, engaging vendor as needed
  • Provide guidance to both projects and application support teams on data masking process, tools, and standards; providing training as required
Provide data masking development services:
  • Design of Data Masking programs/entities, working with the BU Application teams
  • Data Masking Programs coding/configuration (policies, rules, plans) and Unit Testing
  • Implementation activities for the Data Masking programs/entities
  • Level 3 support – troubleshoot script/batch/workflow errors
  • ESP/Batch development for Data Masking jobs only
Provide data masking environment refresh services:
  • Coordination of data refresh to environments with DBAs, Platform, and others as required
  • Execution of environment refresh – data masking scripts/batch/workflows
  • Create and Maintain build books for refresh documentation
  • Level 2 support – diagnosis of masking batch/workflow failure
Support Environment Asset Inventory and Control mechanisms:
  • Assist with centralizing environment asset inventory
  • Assisting BU’s with asset inventory maintenance, i.e. scheduling/booking, tracking of data masking
  • Maintain enhanced information on environments, i.e. ownership, purpose, access and control
  • Assist with introduction and maintenance of environment masking approval and notification mechanisms
  • Enforce technical standards and best practices related to data masking
  • Maintain and upgrade data masking tool and process/standards skills as needed; provide future-state guidance
  • Provide technical leadership and training/mentoring to internal REM team members
Any additional responsibilities or functions that will be provided by the MBPS Management Team or the Manulife Business Unit as deemed necessary in the course of the business operations.
Qualifications

Minimum Skills Requirement to Hire:

The candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Must pass current job expectations and meet performance metrics.
  • Must not have any attendance issues and have not received any disciplinary action.
Key Skill Set:
  • Strong understanding of data masking concepts and of at least one related tool, 3 plus year experience in data masking
  • Preferred in-depth knowledge of the features of Informatica Test Data Management and PowerCentre; if not, based on first bullet strong willingness to learn and maintain knowledge on these tools
  • Clear understanding of the systems delivery life cycle, including QA and testing concepts and source code management concepts
  • Strong database experience in DB2, Oracle or SQL Server
  • Hands-on experience with an ETL or a test data tool
  • Understanding of testing methods and approaches
  • Understanding of test data management concepts
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of database tools and utilities
  • Well rounded people skills, ability to work with teams and managers across many business units and levels; ability to influence decisions
  • Adept at learning ever-evolving business needs and picking up new technical concepts and techniques
  • Effective time management and planning skills
  • Customer-centric, off-hours/24x7 support
