Position Title: Communications Project Specialist Co-op
The TRS Strategic Communications Consultant (SCC) is a client-facing role working directly with plan sponsors, financial advisors and consultants to develop, implement and measure innovative, client-specific custom communication and education programs that engage participants, improve their retirement readiness and help to grow plan assets. The role is accountable to work with mid-market and large clients and works hard to build strong client relationships. The SCC is a key member of the sales and retention team. SCCs can work with the client to build a simple postcard or as complex as an online, interactive educational game or mobile app. The SCC team is a part of the larger Product and Marketing organization which develops tools, resources, marketing elements, and communications for plan sponsors, financial advisors, and participants centering on retirement planning services.
The Communication Project Specialist ("Co-op") would partner closely with the SCCs to manage various communication and education tasks and projects in order to support the SCCs clients. The Co-op would also include partnering with our internal John Hancock business partners/subject matter experts, understanding processes and procedures, and supporting various marketing projects.
‐ Education workshop scheduling, coordination, and preparation of materials
‐ Compliance reviews
‐ Communication and marketing campaigns project plans, ongoing review, maintenance, etc.
‐ Quote estimates/budget management
‐ Updating communication pieces on a client-by-client basis such as: interactive guides, posters, postcards, presentations, etc.
‐ CRM updates (campaign activity log, campaign details, etc.)
‐ Business planning (updating decks with measurement results, recommendations, etc.)
‐ Measurement results for ongoing communications campaigns
‐ Run and analyze business intelligence reports
‐ Participant Portal – create website (by leveraging current systems and functionality) for sales finals and ongoing clients, testing, maintenance, reporting on statistics
‐ Manage communications efforts around new product rollouts for clients
Job Description and Duties
- Provide internal support to the SCC team for ongoing marketing/communication projects and Company initiatives
- Through the roles and responsibilities, you will gain insight and build skills in client service, relationship management, consultation, project/data management and reporting, sales, production/fulfillment, and marketing/communications
- Provide retirement education communications and marketing support for the SCC
- Exposure to other areas of the John Hancock business and careers, and insight into our clients and their communication and education needs for their employees
