John Hancock’s Insurance division (a division of Manulife Financial) delivers estate and business planning solutions to individuals through an array of innovative products. The Insurance Retail Product Management department administers the expansion and enhancement of the Life insurance product portfolio by ensuring that intended products meet the company's strategic vision of satisfying customer needs. The Business Intelligence team provides current and historical details on the performance of products within the portfolio to inform design decisions and strategies.
We are looking for passionate self-starters who think outside the box and are excited to learn! In this role, a co-op will contribute to the product development life cycle by providing data driven responses to various inquiries on the performance of the insurance product portfolio. This role has visibility into the strategic underpinnings and efforts of competitive product design.
The Business Intelligence Analyst will:
  • Comprehend and improve upon various performance metrics
  • Investigate the performance of specific products and/or the product portfolio
  • Prepare and present summary materials concerning product/portfolio performance
  • Design and implement automated reporting capabilities
  • Facilitate communication between diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent MS Office Skills, advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication -Strong organizational skills and ability to self-manage priorities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Graphic Design/User Experience background is desirable
  • Computer Science background is desirable, knowledge of SQL is a plus
