The Senior Marketing Analyst will support the ongoing brand analytics vision, including planning and execution for various brand-level campaigns. In addition, the analyst will collaborate with business units when appropriate to integrate measurement and reporting. Working closely with the Director of Marketing Analytics, the analyst will serve as a lead or support team member depending on the initiative/campaign. A significant portion of this person’s time will be spent supporting digital campaigns. The analyst will also team with external agencies to coordinate reporting and related communications/optimizations.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with Director of Marketing Analytics to support brand-level digital media reporting and market research needs
    • Liaise with campaign managers to plan for and execute on required metric
    • Determine, calculate, and interpret key metrics across channels and business units
    • Compile required reports based on agreed upon timelines and collaborate with business unit colleagues to compile divisional reports as requested
    • Design, execute, and interpret test results
    • Ensure proper tagging/tracking is implemented across digital properties and assets Work with business and systems partners to ensure data platforms and infrastructure align with analytics needs
    • Maintain operational standards for team around process, quality assurance, measurement, and documentation
    • Team with external vendors and partners to coordinate projects and deliverables
    • Respond to other ad hoc requests as needed
  2. Provide business insights to team and internal/external stakeholders on various assignments/projects
    • Provide consultative support to initiatives across John Hancock
    • Collaborate with external partners, including agencies, media organizations, and research vendors to produce accurate and actionable reporting, demonstrating tangible business results and actionable insights
    • Work across the US businesses to develop common metrics, shared strategies, and recommendations, bringing products and brand marketing closer together
    • Team with global colleagues to build global brand tracking strategies and initiatives
    • Team with US Strategy, IT, and CX teams to most effectively collect and leverage data

Required Core Competencies

  • Strong English language skills
  • Bachelor degree in a quantitative/technical field such as Engineering, Economics, Statistics
  • Strong problem-solving mentality with ability to synthesize implications from analysis to formulate actionable insights
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with limited support from manager
  • Strong desire to continuously advance skillset through new tools and skills
  • Strong teamwork with effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, manage time effectively, and deliver quality results on-time
  • Proactively identifies and resolves program/project issues and knows when to escalate to more senior team members
  • Is flexible, responding quickly and appropriately to change and ad hoc requests

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficient campaign tracking experience, particularly for search, programmatic, social, web, etc.
  • Proficient in media and site analytics tools, including, but not limited to: Adobe Analytics, DCM, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, AdWords, etc.
  • Advanced use of Excel, and proficient in other Microsoft Office products (e.g., PowerPoint)

Beneficial Skills

  • Proficiency in statistics (regression) and statistical package programming skills (R, SAS)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Qlik, Tableau, Domo, etc.)
  • Database experience (SQL, stored procedures, and data modeling)
