Accountability Statement:
The Global Investments Vendor Management and Procurement Group oversees Manulife’s global investment vendor relationships, including market data vendors, applications and software. The team supports robust vendor management processes including contract management, vendor risk and performance management, annual due diligence and provides operational support to the Investments Division.
The Investments Vendor Management team is looking for an intern to provide support for various functions. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and support of the corporate vendor repository to ensure all contracts are uploaded and appropriately catalogued. This will include converting contracts from legacy database to the corporate tool.
The successful incumbent will also show an aptitude for learning, showing initiative and identification of opportunities for improvements.
  • Submit electronic copies of all new fully executed agreements and corresponding contract upload forms to Pro Contracts Wiz and review accuracy of contract information in Pro-Contracts database
  • Migrate all legacy Market Data vendor contracts from SharePoint site to Pro Contracts Wiz
  • Reconcile Market Data Inventory and corresponding payments to Pro Contracts Wiz to ensure all contracts are reflected appropriately in the repository
  • Assist with the completion and maintenance of vendor performance scorecards for key high-risk vendor relationships
  • Assist with Invoice management inquiries
  • Recommend the establishment of new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information
  • Create, maintain and update market data inventory file to create holistic reporting and renewal information
  • Assist with market data reporting on spend and contract information for selected custodians
  1. Superior report creation and maintenance skills including automating information
  2. Building and maintaining relationship with internal and external team members in multiple locations
  3. Strong multi-tasking capabilities to manage multiple competing tasks and priorities
  4. Demonstrated initiative and ability to think and act critically, creatively and independently
  5. Knowledge or experience with Financial Services organization
  6. Good knowledge and understanding of securities instruments/settlements, foreign exchange and derivative instruments/settlements and banking process
  7. Superior analytical and problem solving
  8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desired Skills and Experience:
  1. Enrolled in a college or university, working toward a degree in Prelaw or English preferred
  2. MS office skills, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS access, Charts & graphs
  3. Solid understanding of various investment instruments and their analytics, characteristics and benchmarks
  4. Candidate must have highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skill sets
  5. Position requires the ability to quickly trouble shoot issues and think outside of the box.  Must enjoy solving complex problems and implementing creative solutions in a changing and dynamic financial environment
