Am I Right for the Job?
Quality Assurance Services (QAS) is a shared service that provides quality and testing services for systems and applications across all Canadian Division business units operating in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
QAS is looking for someone who has acute leadership skills within the quality assurance domain.  This role has accountability for overall QAS deliverables that support strategic and operational projects being implemented by our IT business unit partners along with a focus on leading and implementing QA industry best practices for manual, automated and performance testing.
What would I be accountable for?
  • Manage Global and Manulife resources and budget to maximize productivity & effectiveness
  • Prepare a performance test strategy and manage performance test delivery for projects across the Canadian Division business units
  • Assist with gaining efficiencies and improvements utilizing automation and other techniques 
  • Contribute to the QA transformation vision and strategy by modeling the required behaviors
  • Ensure that the necessary technical and subject matter skills are included within the QA team and utilized appropriately
  • Leading and implementing QA industry best practices for both manual and automated testing
  • Provide direction and leadership of QA activities covered by the team
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Drive continuous improvement, ie. lower unit costs, improve service levels
  • Build and maintain client relationships across portfolio within business unit and QA Services, including Global Resources
  • Manage service delivery along with resource capacity requirements
  • Apply risk analysis practices
  • Influence and contribute to successful change including new ways of doing things
  • Ensure compliance with QA practice and company‚Äôs control standards & governance
  • Prepare management and status reports
  • Manage escalations
  • Evaluate vendor resource performance
  • Collaborate with others to identify and improve quality, process and procedures
  • Monitor and validate vendor efficiencies, metrics, and reports

What are the qualifications for this job?
  • 10 - 15 years of relevant IT management and QA experience
  • Experience leading and coordinating testing teams, including global resource engagements
  • Knowledge and experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience leading performance testing to support project delivery
  • Understanding of DevOps (Continuous deployment, continuous integration and continuous testing) is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in API testing, performance testing, Robotics Process Automation, AODA, mobile testing is considered an asset
  • Experience in Test Data Management and Service Virtualization processes and tools is an asset
  • Quality Assurance Professional /Certification
  • Post-secondary education
