We are currently looking for a Plan Administrator – Payroll
Summary of Responsibilities:

The Plan Administrator – Payroll is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and funding of  Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit client payrolls and updating census data for Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit Retirement Plans.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Relations
  • Communicate directly with payroll contact at client regarding the reconciliation and processing of payrolls
  • Ensure client is utilizing “best practices” for payroll processing
  • Identify trends in payroll processing and address them with the client and Client Service Manager
  • Respond to payroll related client inquiries, resolve service issues, and demonstrate proactive, solution-based approach to enhance client relations
  • Analyze client requests versus NYLIM RPS policies and procedures
  • Proactively manage account by setting appropriate expectations
  • Responsible for the quality control and timely delivery of client work, including final review of all data updates, and plan sponsor and participant reporting
  • Responsible for maintaining shared databases; documenting all client calls regardless of nature of call
  • Maintain high level of service excellence
Administration / Operations
  • Process various transactions
  • Establish working knowledge of the policies, procedures, and quality control to process and approve  various types of contributions, indicative data updates, new enrollments, loan repayments and funding methods
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all transactions in accordance with NYLIM service standards and timeframes including client specific service standards as outlined in Service Agreement if applicable; associates in this position will be responsible for doing a quality check on their peers processing
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of plan reporting requirements to client - demonstrate a clear understanding of the data being reflected; must be detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of the effect of compensation on compliance tests - provide Compliance Department information necessary to complete these items
  • Complete special projects as assigned in accordance with communicated expectations
  • Maintain client files according to department standards and update documentation as needed.  Maintain internal databases to reflect current client information and data as well as processing note
  • Identify / implement opportunities for increased operational efficiencies with clients’ plans to enhance client service delivery
  • Working knowledge of the effect of compensation and service on Defined Benefit calculations
Job Requirements:
  • General Business Experience or equivalent work experience
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical industry knowledge to day-to-day issues and have the ability to adapt to technology
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in high volume, deadline oriented, fast paced environment
  • Candidate must be detail oriented resulting in quality work
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of ERISA
  • A keen desire to learn
  • Candidate should be goal oriented and have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Lotus Notes experience
  • ASPPA or CEBS designations or courses will be considered very favorably
  • This is primarily a full-time position with minimal schedule flexibility
