•This role is a North America Day-Shift role.

•The Group Functions IT (GFIT) Enterprise Planview Services and System Support group within Manulife provides Planview reporting technology

development and support across the Enterprise. The successful candidate will have a functional reporting line into the Group Functions IT (GFIT)


•This position is for a Senior Business Systems Analyst on the Enterprise Planview Services Team. The successful applicant will be involved with application

support, development, deployment, business requirement gathering and data analysis all in support of solutions that conform to Manulife standards.

•The primary role/responsibility is to provide analysis/consulting/implementation of projects and technical solutions prioritized in the Enterprise Planview


•The candidate will possess a breadth and depth of experience that will allow her/him to devise and support solutions that integrate appropriately within

the organization and its application framework


Key Accountabilities: 

•Consulting/Business Requirements - Work closely with business stakeholders, System Owner/Application Consultant/Technical Lead to collect

requirements, design and implementing technical solutions.  Engage-in and challenge requirements while designing and supporting solutions based on

technical knowledge of application and database architecture. This includes understanding business need and analyzing any change impact for global

users, solution architecture and recommendations for changes.

•Technology Currency - work with business stakeholders and vendor for any new patches, releases, application upgrades and controlled releases. This

includes SOW, release notes, impact analysis and managing resources and time.

•Documentation - ensure that documentation regarding team's best practices and standards are kept up to date.  Maintain thorough and accurate

•Hands-on technical work - may include relational data design, SQL coding, stored procedures, interface integration (ETL) work, testing, deployment and

other support activities

•Process Improvements - Provide recommendations on an on-going basis

•Ensure all solution designs are implemented to ensure improved stability, consistency, and maintainability.

•Maintain consistent development methodology, processes and templates, documentation and audit requirements, application code management and

testing tools and strategies

•Employ efficient development processes to produce high quality, maintainable solutions taking all stakeholders needs and defined roadmap priorities into


•Remain current on standards, technologies, approaches and methodologies

•Address complex issues in a Level 3 support perspective as required/escalated.

•Ensure on-time delivery of assigned tasks.

•Consistently apply the concept of continuous improvement

•Attend training during either North America or Asia support hours when required

•Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Technical leads or Director, Enterprise Planview Services



Technical Skills:

•Minimum 3 years working experience supporting systems at Level 2 (support)

•Successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Planview (Version 14 or higher) application

•Previous experience with Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder

•Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office

•Technical experience with, QlikView, Qlik Sense, not required, but considered an asset.


Soft Skills:

•Proven ability to multitask both independently and within a team

•Excellent English communication (both written and oral)

•Applicable undergraduate degree or Designation in Computer Science or equivalent experience

•Ability to understand business process requirements and, through the use of technology, conceptualize creative solutions through to implementation

•Experience and knowledge of financial industry

•Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills

•Solid organization skills with emphasis on details and follow-up

•Outstanding analytical skills and technical skills

•Action oriented, creative and proactive thinker
