Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst is an individual contributor primarily responsible for the accurate and timely accounting and consolidated reporting for Investment Division and its subsidiaries under IFRS accounting basis for use of senior management and in compliance to SOX and other regulatory requirements. The role involves analysis and interpretation of complex accounting data, understanding of accounting and reporting rules and assisting in the development of new process and procedures within the General Account Investment Team. The role is also responsible for various reconciliation most especially that which affects the Lawson General Ledger. This role also provides support to Investment Division business unit and serves as the primary contact of IFS for ledger related issues
Management Reporting and Analysis
The role is responsible for the preparation of management reports catered to the needs of different stakeholders of Legal Entity Reporting team including preparation of Assets under Management (AUM) and Sales report for Canadian Division, CGAAP report for Public and Private Markets and Distribution, PtoP (Plan to Performance) Expense HEART Reports (Headcount and Expense Automated Report Template). The job holder will also provide ad hoc reports as requested by management.
Financial Accounting Operations
The job holder works closely with the business units to ensure smooth flow in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial operations of LERSSC team, including but not limited to, preparation of journal entries, updating and maintaining of accounts receivable files, preparation of Inter-company amounts for booking of counterparties, daily bank reconciliation and clearing of Cube Imbalances.
Divisional Coordinator for Investment
Contact person for Investment Division- Divisional Coordinator task which includes IFS Lawson Account Setup/Change, IFS Lawson Accounting Unit Setup/Change, Lawson Batch Error and Security Profile Change
Invoice Processing
This role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoice for all MAM Limited clients including Institutional, Real estate, Standard Life and Third party clients for management and services fee rendered. This includes monitoring of all Accounts receivable and ensures that all entries are posted to Lawson and recorded to the AR file. . The role holder should also monitor closely the invoice that are already paid; pro-actively follow up to appropriate persons for any issues or discrepancies in a professional manner.
Special Projects/ Adhoc Request
The role will serve as Business Unit contact for new tasks to be transitioned to the team and ad hoc requests to be performed.

  • University graduate in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience with progressive responsibility within the Accounting/ Investment analysis field
  • Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of the business environment and financial reporting structure in order to provide meaningful analysis
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Applications (Lawson, Essbase, DART, TM1)
  • Experience using enterprise planning tools (Cognos, Hyperion, MSTR,etc
  • Strong oral/written communication skills required to interact with senior officers and representatives from other Divisions and functional departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible to changing environments
  • Ability to work independently and to willing to collaborate with other teams for a project with huge scale benefits
Additional Details
  • The applicant should be willing to report at mid/night shift during Business Day 1-5 on month-ends.
